This past week the cafe hosted a small, but lively group for a WebInno 26 afterparty – thanks to all who joined us to try the Kona Longboard Island Lager, our draft beer of the week! We had some great activity on the Riotvine event posting and on Twitter for that event, and hope to repeat that event for the next WebInno, next quarter. We were even the location for a birthday celebration!
While the WebInno afterparty hosted a fabulous crowd of the movers and shakers in Boston’s entrepreneurial scene (who are also willing and able to stay out on a Monday night as @connectorsRus pointed out
the cafe also was the venue for three other lively events run with a bit of overlap this past Thursday from 3 til 8 (!), our new ‘closing’ hour. We were excited to have a packed to the gills crowd for Michael Gaiss (Highland Capital) answering questions about PepsiCo10, MassChallenge’s Entrepreneur Mix and Mingle and Seeding Labs’ inaugural monthly #IDTechUp, filling the pressing need for an International Development & Technology meetup. The #IDTechUp was the welcome party for four Seeding Labs/Novartis Fellows from Kenyatta University and was also highlighted by @JoselinMane and @BostonTweetup, who provided some invaluable event planning and execution advice!
We had a record crowd of over 60 visitors, and thank all who attended the cafe this past week.
This Thursday, we welcome Stephen McCormack from Commonwealth and Chris Sheehan from Common Angels as NEVCA Open Office Hours returns. We are excited to be expanding the Office Hours to include Angels and other knowledgeable members of the entrepreneurial and innovation (E&I) community.
Speaking of which, in new news, the cafe will also be host to MassChallenge’s Office Hours for the next three weeks, starting this Thursday, June 24th. The sign-ups to talk with members of the MassChallenge team are posted here: David Constantine and Salimah Nooruddin.
I look forward to seeing you all in the cafe!
Best, Carrie
